Time and Duration in Kannada

In this post we shall see some commonly used words to describe time and duration. We shall also see usage for some of the words.

Today - evathu  ( e as in easy )

Tommorow - naaLe

Yesterday - neNNe

Day before yesterday - moNNe  ( mo as in Modi )

Day after tommorrow - naadidhu

15 mins past 8 clock - entu ( e as elephant ) kaalu  

30 mins past 8 clock - entu varai

45 mins past 8 clock - entu mukkalu

Year - varusha

Month - thingaLu

Week - vaara

Day - dina

Hour - gante

Minute - nimisha

Last week - hoda vaara ( the week that just went by )

Next week - mundina vaara

Previous week - hindina vaara
